The Arc 1800 resort
Les Arcs is made up of four resort villages, Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000, in the Tarentaise valley in Savoie, in the heart of the Vanoise massif. Arc 1800 is the largest: a sunny village with shops, restaurants and entertainment.
In winter, the Les Arcs ski area, linked to La Plagne by the Vanoise Express to form Paradiski, suits every level. Non-skiers enjoy the Mille 8 leisure centre, the shops, the terraces, snowshoe walks and dog sledding. In summer, the resort becomes a playground for hiking, mountain biking, golf and paragliding.

Getting to Les Arcs 1800 by train
Bourg-Saint-Maurice station, at the foot of the resort, is served by direct trains from Lyon, Chambéry, Albertville and Moûtiers, and during the winter season by direct weekend TGV high-speed trains from Paris and other major cities. International travellers can connect via Paris or Lyon.
From the station, the Arc-en-Ciel funicular climbs to Arc 1600 in 7 minutes, then a shuttle bus takes you to Arc 1800. There is a bus stop at the foot of the Les Tournavelles residence: you can enjoy your stay without a car.
Getting there by car
Take the A43 motorway towards Albertville, the expressway to Moûtiers, then the RN 90 to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From there, allow about 30 minutes to reach Arc 1800. When you arrive in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, follow the road signs rather than your GPS, which may suggest roads that are closed in winter.
In winter, there is a paid car park at the entrance to the resort; it is advisable to book a covered space in advance. A free car park is located about 1 km from the resort entrance.
Getting there by plane
The nearest airports are Chambéry-Savoie (about 2 hours by road), Lyon Saint-Exupéry, Grenoble-Isère and Geneva (about 3 hours). During the season, shuttle buses link the airports to the resort.
